Thanks to all the firefighters who fought bravely to protect these pristine areas. Our family has snowmobiled in these areas for the last 6 years. We have never seen any area so beautiful. God Bless all of you for the hard work.

I'm from Indiana and the Newberry area is one of my favorite escapes and "comfort zones" at least 3-4 times a year. I cherish the drives through the marshlands and on all the country roads, as well as the town of Newberry, and I was shocked to find out so late about the fire. My heart goes out to everyone in the Newberry area. MANY, MANY thanks to the firefighters, all the volunteers(local and from other areas), and the residents of Luce County for all their efforts. Thanks also to Gina Harman and the other photographers, and superiorsights.com, for their efforts to chronicle the fire and keep everyone informed. This is one wanna'be UP'er that is grateful and is looking forward to coming back to Newberry in the very near future.

Thank you for your hard work and dedication to battling this and many other fires. I personally had concerns as the fire threatened my family's property on the north center of County Road 420. We watched with anticipation as your crews dug in and held the line. You all are an inspiration to the many children and citizens affected by this event. We appreciate the great effort. Many thanks and God bless!

Today it is raining-what a blessing, but even though the fire is not in the news as much anymore it is still on our minds as to if it should escape the underground holes would we be able to stop it again? With the help of all whom where here before we would! Everyone that came, gave, did and prayed- a BIG " THANK-YOU" and may God look out for you on your next fire call. God Bless everyone.
