Thank you to all of the volunteers, donors, firefighters, and all workers who are protecting our beautiful country here in the Upper Pennisula. My prayers continue to be with you daily. As I am posting this note - we are recieving rain in Paradise, I am praying that the fire recieves rain tonight - but not more lightning. May God continue to surround you and your families with safety and sleep as you work hard to protect our homes and keep people out of harms way. God Bless all of you!

Hello, Just wanted to say a word of thanks to all involved in the effort to put out the fire in Newbery. Even though I no longer live there, "Home is always where the heart is" and with my family and friends living in the near by area its hard to keep peice of mind. It brakes my heart to know that the places I grew up around are going up in smoke, but I know that in the end all will be well. Good thing about nature it always reproduces. I have sent up many prayers, for the safty of everyone involved, as well as prayers for RAIN. Keep Safe, Good Luck. Also thanks to the "Eagle" Mom (Joey)raves about you all, all the time. Robin Eblin

It's so sad to see any forest fire, but the U.P. has a special place in my heart. I drove through the smoke from near the bridge to Pickford on August 3rd. I didn't know then what was burning. My folks are in Barbeau, so I followed the story from there. Many thanks to all who are fighting the fire, and to those who are helping in other ways. Praying for you, Marie

It's difficult to watch the fire and the progress it has made. You firefighters and community members supporting the firefighters and everyone involved are truly a blessing. You are in our thoughts and prayers while you tirelessly protect "Gods" country.

How many ways can we say thank you to a group of heros dedicated to helping people they don't even know? You are indeed a brave lot and your families must be very proud of you and what you do. Our property at Pike Lake is very special to us, our family and friends. We know that at this time it is not in danger however, we also know what a strong shift in wind direction could do to us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We pray daily for your safety and (also)for about a 3 day steady rainfall. We are aquainted with a lot of people in the Newberry area and know that the town is bending over backwards to help you. My husband was born and raised up there so we know what strong stuff they are made of. God Bless!

The entire UP is packed with family memories for me. I am continuing that tradition with my wife and 2 year old son. Because of your valiant effort and commitment and tireless work this will be possible. Without your help, so much potential experiences would have been simply not possible. I do own land and a cabin close to the fire, however I am thankful for the campgrounds and landscape you have preserved through protecting them. I would like to suggest we endeavor to get a list and a group photo of the firefighters and others helping so that we can recognize them in the future with a handshake or buying a round, or reciprocate in any way we can. I assure you I will tell this story to my son over the years as we have our UP adventures and hope to inspire him to understand what doing the right thing is all about. My deep thanks. Don
