Thank you all for fighting the fire and protecting our town and area. You are a great bunch of people putting yourselves on the line to get this under control. My heartfelt thanks!! I grew up in Newberry and was there last weekend. We could see the smoke from our cottage on Round Lake. It was an amazing sight to see the water planes from Minnesota swoop down and get water off the lake and be back for more within 10 minutes. Please be safe and know your are in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless!!

Passions fuel our lives. So many ways peole have expressed themselves. While others have actively shown how much they care, most of us can only appreciate their efforts. You know how much it matters when any update is the first & last thing you do each day. This "event" continues to challenge, yet demonstrate what can be accomplished. I say thanks through my tears!

Thank you to all the brave men and women that fighting the fire. We were evacuated from our place on the northwest side of the fire on Tuesday as the fire was bearing down on us. When the firefighters arrived I was instantly relieved just knowing they were going to fight the monster on our turf. Their herculean efforts and a little rain on Tuesday prevented a much larger disaster as they held the north and west lines somehow. Only one structure lost and no serious injuries in a fire of this size is truly amazing! Thank you to all of you for saving our structures. Luce County has the best people in the world.

I have land South of 123. My fondest memories are of me and my dad sitting there by the campfire just talking and being father and son. My dad is now gone. I can't imagine anything sadder than losing the land also. I always tell my kids that when it comes to the man vs. nature, mother nature wins every time. From the depths of my soul I thank the firefighters and countless volunteers that are proving me wrong! Thank you for saving our land!

God bless each and everyone who has helped in the effort to get this fire under control. We left our place at Perch Lake last Tuesday with heavy hearts and have been checking information since then. THANK YOU for your tireless efforts. We're proud to be part of a community that shows so much dedication and caring in time of need. Again may GOD BLESS and keep everyone safe.

Thank you so much for all you are doing to help put out this massive fire. One of our family camps (Erickson camp-Birch Ridge) is out that way and so far it has been safe thanks to your heroic efforts! We pray often for your safety and for God's blessings upon you (and for a lot of rain, too). Please know that we are all supporting you 100% and doing what we can here to help. Thank you again for all that you do--not just with this fire, but with all the blazes that you battle. The Derusha Family--Pierre, Kristin, John & Sam, Newberry
