| The firefighters have done an AMAZING job! Dare we say the worst is behind us? It sure seems they have a handle on the situation. What hard, hot and dirty work - and yet they keep on, day after day. We are so grateful - the town was saved, no injuries and little damage. I think the natural world we all hold so dear will be just fine. But it is because of the efforts of trained professionals and all the dedicated and giving volunteers that we are in such good shape now.
And speaking of amazing jobs - what about this website, eh? Thanks to Gina and Chris for all your hard work, too. I know its been a stressful time for you. And for any visitors to the area checking out the fire - you should stop at the gallery (318 Newberry Ave)to check out Chris Harmon's paintings. They are awesome! A series of five oversized canvases with the biggest walleye you've ever seen!

It has been tough to watch your progress from so far away (Ann Arbor) and not be able to do anything but hope and pray. You are heros for risking so much to help everybody who has property and buildings threatened by the fire. |
