| Thank you to all of those who have helped our community to deal with the fire. Although the area is remote, it is where we call home. Our gratitude for your actions to protect our homes, cabins and natural resources can not be expressed enough. Your actions will be remembered and appreciated every time we enjoy these things in the future. |

Words cannot express our appreciation for the work being done by all the fire fighters and volunteers. We have a summer home on the south shore of Muskellonge Lake, have returned to our home in the Soo and have done little else but be concerned about where this fire could go. As time has gone on we have gained great confidence in the work that's transpiring and the efforts so many are making to bring this to a satisfactory conclusion. Thank you also for providing information both on the internet and the phone. They helped a great deal to relieve our anxieties. |

| State Representative Steve Lindberg |
| I have been in Newberry twice since the fire started. The DNR, State Police, Sheriff's Department, Township Fire Departments, National Guard, Search and Rescue, Red Cross, and everyone else who has "pitched in" are doing an outstanding job in fighting this fire. I want to especially thank all those fire fighters that are on the "front lines" both on the ground and in the air for their efforts.
Although, I admit to being biased; I often tell my colleagues in Lansing that not only do I represent the most beautiful part of the state, but I represent the best people in the world. The Luce County Community along with those folks from the rest of the U.P. are again reconfirming my belief. The community support to fight this fire has been nothing less then amazing. Words can not express how privileged I feel, and how proud I am to represent you in Lansing. |

| Vicki & Dick Campbell, East Branch Sportsmans Club |
| We were in the East Branch Sportsmans Club when the fire started, and were asked for our safety to leave about noon on Sunday the 5th. The DNR and Kevin Erickson came into the club and made sure that all of our members were safe. Thank you so much. We stayed in Newberry for 4 days hoping to get back into our cabin, however on Thursday we were told it would at least be until next weekend before we could get back in. We saw the long hours the firemen, DNR, and Sherriffs Department were putting in and the stress on all of their faces. No amount of thanks could ever tell them how much we appreciate their efforts. |
