Thanks to all who have worked so hard to save this beautiful country. We are East of 123 back off the charcoal grade (Atwood Creek Association) and we are thankful for the backburn near the Skyline. Your efforts are much appreciated!

from all the bishop family from the shamrock area, thank you to lyle and timber, the firefighters, red cross, radio stations and merchants (i am sure i missed a few) you are all heaven sent and a blessing from God for watching our vacation and dream area's so well and keeping us informed on everything so well, we have been glued to the blogs and other sights for information since this started. we too understand most can be replaced and regrown (still have massive burnt stumps from the fire WAY back) but so appreciatte the efforts of all to keep things as beautiful as they are now, I am sure our father and husband is watching over all this with astonishment in how well it is being handled. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. > battle creek area Bishops

You watch the fires in other states burning out of control and you see all the effort that goes into trying to get things under control. You see the interviews with people who have had to evacuate or have lost their homes, but you don't really "get it" until it is in your own back yard. We, out north of Newberry, were very fortunate and that was only due to the grand efforts of everyone involved in fighting this thing, regardless of what position that person may have played. There is no way in heaven that we can thank ALL of the people involved enough, no way to pay enough tribute to what they have done and continue to do. There are so many other volunteers working "behind the scenes" that no one knows about (except maybe us locals) and they aren't doing it for the pats on the back or recognition. But Dan and I give thanks to any of you and all of you for everything that you are doing. God Bless all of you.

I already e-mailed Radio Eagle to commend them on the complete and up to date news reporting about the fire. We live down state north of Detroit and the coverage from our local news sources is very limited. Our appreciation and thanks goes out to all the fire fighters and their support people. Thanks also to Superior Sights for their excellent photos.

I was raised and graduated from Newberry - and some of the area that burned is where my family spent the summers camping so I would like to say THANK YOU - all your efforts are greatly appreciated. Thanks to all the fireman and to all the helpers. I'd also like to thank the "Eagle" for updating this website so those of us that used to live in Newberry can keep tabs on what is happening. Let's pray for a nice steady all-day rain and an end to the fire very soon. Thanks again to all.
