| All of those who are helping out up there are certainly in our thoughts and prayers. We can only imagine what they are going through. So much is done yearly to keep the land, parks and trails in good conditions, then to have this to face. Thanks to Kathy Gallagher for keeping us informed. We have been coming to Newberry area for over 15 years in the winter and some in summer. It is one of the best communities in Michigan. Stay safe! |

| Fantastic work by all involved. My wife is from Newberry, and after reading the Free Press story about the great hospitality the "locals" provided, well that just confirmed what I already knew about those Newberry girls! :-)
It should be noted that DNR forestry and fire budgets have been repeatedly cut over the past 15 years, and that the number of State fire officers is nearing an all-time low. I hope some of you will take the time to inform your state legislators about the valuable services our State, volunteer, and local fire fighters have provided.

| We would like to thank all those involved, especially the firefighters and all those that have volunteered their time. We were up there when the fire first started and we were able to hear and see first hand the efforts of the local community and surrounding states and our friends to the north. Even though the
Pine Stump Jct area was evacuated along with the campers at the state park, we always felt secure that the men and women on the front lines would do everything possible to keep the surrounding communities safe from harm. We are home now and continue to keep everyone in our thoughts and prayers. God speed and God bless! |

| First we would like to say how much we appreciate all the work, but not only the work, the time knowing you are away from your families. Just remember there is no fire or building worth a human life. BE SAFE. Muchas gracias:)

| It is time for another hearfelt thank you to all involved in fighting tirelessly to save our structures and forestland we treasure so much. What has been accomplished under these horrible conditions is truly awesome. Your dedication and perserverence will NEVER be forgotten. I'd like to send some of this downstate rain up to Luce County! A special note of thanks to Cathy Clementz and Eagle 97 for their continual updates as the battle continues. May God Bless you all and allow you to return to your families very soon. |

| Thank you everyone who is helping to fight the fire and to everyone who is helping to offer comfort, food, and anything else that helps meet the needs of these folks. Newberry and vicinity is one of my husband's and my favorite places so anyone who helps to protect, restore and rebound is in our thoughts. |
