| Wolfsong Rustics is located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, 25 miles north of Newberry and 90 miles northwest of the Mackinac Bridge. Mike and his wife Cathy's home and shop are nestled in the majestic pines of northern Luce County. Just a whisper from the mystical shores of Lake Superior. Here the air is clean, the water sweet and cold, and the quiet so magical one feels they can reach out and touch the spirits of the forest. Wolfsong is a one man operation where each unique piece is individually hand crafted by the artist/craftsman. |

Mike likes to start from scratch, so very little finish lumber is used in any of his projects. Rough sawn lumber, cedar posts, or stumps and branches hauled in from the woods are the starting point for all of his work. The result is uniqueness from Mother Nature, and quality from Mike's craftsmanship.

| Wolfsong is not a production operation. While Mike does build some of the "standard" rustic log furniture, (one piece at a time), he also creates unique pieces using the natural beauty and shape of the wood to form functional furniture and accessories for the home. He prefers to build custom pieces using the customers own imagination and creativity. "You imagine it, and I will build it" is a motto in his workshop. Mike can also incorporate his carvings into any piece to give it an added dimension. Although rustic furniture is his passion, he is not just limited to individual pieces. His artistic talents and skills as a woodworker also allow him to create custom carved and hand painted signs, and build quality pine kitchen cabinets and vanities with a rustic flare. He has also built novel display pieces for retail businesses. |
